Wedding season is gracefully approaching and yes, there really is a wedding season! Not too many brave soldiers plan their wedding in the the dead heat of summer or during the threat of a hurricane! October and November gets the season under way!
Are you one of the many blissful brides preparing for your big day? It’s one of the biggest days of your life and you want nothing more than to look absolutely radiant, stunning, glamorous, and “knock his socks off” gorgeous, right? So how does all that happen between now and your big day?
Here are a few tips:
If your wedding is a year out, or maybe even six months out, you can start a very simple exercise to start burning some calories and tone up….walking! Whether it’s before jumping in the shower each morning, after dinner or even on your lunch break, find a buddy and start walking. Here’s a tip if you don’t like the heat: Walk the mall, it’s air-conditioned! No frequent stopping though (if you know what I mean!)
Looking for your skin to be absolutely flawless? Who isn’t? Your picture will be taken over 1000 times on your wedding day! If you don’t already have a customized skin care regimen, get one! It’s so important to have a daily skin care routine that is geared towards the age your skin is acting. Team Beauti has an excellent skin care line that does just that.
In addition to a good skin care regimen, drink! And I don’t mean alcohol, coffee or soda. I mean WATER! Hydrated skin looks youthful, more radiant and healthy. Add a little splash of lemon or lime, the L-Ascorbic Acid (also known as Vitamin C) is great for your skin and it adds a bit flavor.
Last but certainly not least, have a professional makeup artist do your makeup on your wedding day. If you’re on a budget, as most people are, this is the one area where you shouldn’t skimp. Professional makeup artists know the tricks of the trade to make you look absolutely flawless. They know how to enhance the features you like and minimize the ones you don’t. Your makeup has to be perfect and has to last for at least 10 hours. If you’re confident you have what it takes to do that, great, if not, call upon a Team Beauti professional. You’ll be glad you did!
I see a very Beauti-ful Bride in your future!

Fall is here and I’m sure some of you are missing your sun kissed look and radiance from the summer sun. Like me, you liked looking bronzed and beautiful and you’re now wondering “how can I achieve the youthful glow during the fall”? With these techniques you can enhance that warm glow and extra shine!
Step 1: Set up an appointment with a dermatologist or aesthetician to help you develop a daily routine to work on any breakouts, fine lines and dullness your skin may have. Facials every 4 to 6 months removes dead skin cells leaving the skin radiant.
Step 2: Moisturize daily – Moisturizer is crucial! When you skip out on moisturizer, your skin “kicks in” and tells your body to make oil to moisturize your skin. This is not they type of moisturizer we had in mind, right? Foundation will not go on smooth and can leave a “flaky” appearance that I assure you do not want. I suggest you pick up an oil-free moisturizer which will help keep your face both hydrated and a smooth.
Step 3: Exfoliate – You should exfoliate once or twice a week depending on your skin type. This will give you smooth, glowing skin! It help remove all unwanted dead skin cells you may have. Exfoliants do not have to be harsh. Don’t think more is better. Products with enzymes, retinol or a mild glycolic acid will do the trick. If you like the physical exfoliators, use a buffing brush like Clarisonic or use a product with polishing beads.
Step 4: Skin Tone – If you have dark spots or redness, a good remedy is Intense Pulsed light (IPL) therapy to reduce discoloration. If IPL is out of your budget, then invest in a good BB cream and your skin will appear more uniform under foundation. Some BB creams come tinted so concealing and foundation are all in one!
Step 5: Facial Masks – Think of a facial mask a super charge for your skin. A hydrating mask will bring moisture back to cells that give the appearance of a raisin instead of a plump grape!
I hope these tips were helpful!

IPL, short for Intense Pulsed Light therapy, is a non-surgical Photofacial Skin Care Treatment. IPL is a very effective, no down time, safe method for removing pigment, brown spots, scars, and excess or broken blood vessels from the facial skin.
Browns spots, broken blood vessels around the nose, chin and cheeks are classic signs of sun damage and aging of the facial skin. Brown spots, often called age spots are caused by pigment that is produced by the skin to protect the skin from the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun. New blood vessels grow into the skin in response to skin injury, first to wash out damaged skin debris and later to bring in healing factors.
As our skin ages, the brown spots and broken blood vessels are left behind on the skin after the inflammation or skin injury has passed. These pigmented and red vascular spots create an aged appearance to the skin which is called dyschromia. Photofacial skin care treatments or IPL treatments are the non-surgical anti-aging skin care treatment of choice for benign facial skin pigmentation, age spots, acne, scars and broken blood vessels. Photofacial treatments are now preferred over laser treatments for these specific pigment and vascular lesions.
How Do IPL Non-surgical anti-aging Skin Care Treatments Work?
IPL or Photofacial anti-aging skin care treatments use a bright flash of visible light, like the light of a camera flash to remove pigment and blood vessels non-surgically from the skin. This pulsed or flashed light is very different from a laser and in most instances, less powerful and less dangerous that laser light.
Photofacial skin rejuvenation works by passing a flash of bright light through a filter that only allows a specific color of light in the flash to pass through the filter and hit the skin. When the Photofacial light energy is absorbed by the pigment or blood vessel, the heat from the IPL light destroys the pigment or blood vessel by heating it. This process is called Target Specific Photothermolysis. A specific target, that is a color, is heated (thermo) with a light (photo) beam and dissolved or destroyed (lysis).
Using color filters placed in front of the Intense Pulsed Light beam, a wide variety of colors can be allowed through to treat many different skin conditions including hair removal, acne, and others.
What Will My Skin Look Like Immediately After a Photofacial Skin Care Treatment?
Unlike lasers, which can cause the skin to peel and possibly leave scars, IPL treatments are very gentle on the skin. The pigment in the brown spot or age spot will darken very slightly, and the treated blood vessel will also darken a bit. However the skin will be intact. The treated areas may also be slightly pink for a few hours. You may return to work. And your skin will be nearly normal the next day.
Does An Intense Pulsed Light Skin Care Treatment Hurt?
There is minimal discomfort during an IPL care treatment. Anesthesia or numbing medicine is not required. When the IPL flash hits the skin you will feel a small snap or sting, but this is easily tolerated by all of my patients.
